Theo’s Trail, acrylic on wood, 40 x 36 in, 2016.

My mother used to walk our dog, Theo, along the Oregon Trail each morning. It became a family ritual to walk here together at every holiday, every time we were all together really. After Theo passed, we spread his ashes near this spot on the trail, looking at the Boise River flowing below us. This painting was gift to my parents, commemorating this place that holds so many memories for our family and our beloved dog, Theo. Here’s to you, Theodore.
